WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26 “MEGA-MIXER” WILL HOST SOME 650
CHAMBER MEMBERS FROM ALL OVER THE SGV AT SPEEDWAY

Irwindale, Calif. - - The Irwindale Chamber of Commerce and Irwindale Speedway and Dragstrip are all set to co-host a multi-chamber “Mega-Mixer” that will see an estimated 650 to 700 Chamber of Commerce members from businesses all over the San Gabriel Valley visiting the grounds of Irwindale Speedway on Wednesday afternoon, June 26.  

“When we started talking about doing a Mega-Mixer, the Speedway stepped up and said, 'OK. let's have it right here!',  obviously, we were thrilled with the idea. We think that this gathering has all the earmarks of becoming an annual event,”  said Sonnie Faires, the Executive Director of the Irwindale Chamber.  “The Speedway is one of the great public attractions of the San Gabriel Valley and all of us are very proud of its many contributions to the community.”

Some twenty-plus racing teams will bring their racing vehicles to the Speedway on a rare (for them) Wednesday afternoon, not to race, but to put on exhibit for all the chamber member guests.  “We'll have at least one each of just about every kind of machine that races here at the track from NASCAR stockers to Karts, and their drivers and team members will be here to show visitors around the race vehicles and to give autographs.”  said track GM, Robert DeFazio.  “There'll be special  prize drawings and other surprises at the track too.”

The event will start at 5PM on Wednesday afternoon and carry on until 7PM, there will be no charge for any chamber member and the track's concessionaire will make traditional “track dogs” (hot dogs with all the trimmings that you can load on 'em) and 20oz. soft drinks available to all for only a buck apiece.

A special wine-tasting (for those of wine-tasting age only, please ... ) will be hosted by the Canandaigua Wine Company's Ralph Kernohan where samples of a couple of his company's best selections may be sipped by participants.  Kernohan will also be bringing his daughter's racing go-kart along for display as one of the many hot machines that call Irwindale Speedway and Dragstrip home.

Most of the Chambers of Commerce in the SGV have a pair of Annual Corporate Box Seats courtesy of the Speedway which they use on a weekly basis for promotions.
