Honda, Nissan sales rise
June 21, 2002 Kyodo news reported that Honda Motor Co and Nissan Motor Co continued to post gains in domestic auto sales in May, while the three other majpr Japanese automakers saw their sales decline, according to data released Friday by the carmakers.
Honda sold 65,809 vehicles in May, up 18.2% from a year earlier, as its Fit subcompact passenger car continued to sell well, it said. Nissan said its domestic sales rose 16.1% to 59,505 units in May, up for the second consecutive month, due mainly to the strong sales of the new March passenger car.
