INAUGURAL STREET LEGAL IMPORT DRAG RACING CHALLENGE
AT IRWINDALE DRAGSTRIP ... FRIDAY NIGHT , JUNE 21!

Irwindale, Calif. - - Irwindale Dragstrip's first-ever Street Import Legal Drag Racing Challenge is set to scream down the strip this Friday night, June 21!

Hot Hondas, Fast Focuses, Attacking Acuras, Mean Mitsubishis, Menacing Mazdas, Nasty Nissans, Terrible Toyotas, Very (quick) Volkswagens and more automotive alliterations than anyone can shake a dog-eared thesaurus at, will all be converging on Irwindale's fast 1/8-Mile NHRA drag strip for an import shoot-out of monumental proportions.

Import drivers from all over the southland will be showing up at Irwindale Dragstrip this Friday night to take their best shots at the super 'strip.  “We're really not too sure of what to expect for this first show,”  said Dragstrip Director Gene Bergstrom.  “But, from the way that the phone calls have been coming in, we think that this special Friday night event is going to be a huge turnout just like our Thursday night Test'N'Tune sessions have been.”

Friday's racing will include all of the usual, including match racing, grudge races, head-to-head races and all sorts of that fun stuff ... In addition the Power 108 “Goodfellas” will host a spectacular bikini contest with a $200 purse and Nitto Tires will put up a C-note ($100) for the winner in the Burn-Out Contest.

The gates will open at 4PM with racing getting under way at 6:00.  Spectators are $10.00 each and a entry to race is only $20.00 which includes the driver's event admission.  All cars which enter competition must undergo a safety tech and all NHRA speed and safety rules will apply.  The event will also welcome all street legal domestic muscle cars as well.
