TROY, Mich., June 19 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc. today announced it expanded the leadership role and responsibilities of Rob Malone, vice president and general manager of the company's Light Vehicle Aftermarket (LVA) business group. Malone, currently responsible for the group's filter operations, will increase his leadership scope to also include the group's ride control business. Malone will continue to report to ArvinMeritor's president of Light Vehicle Aftermarket, Dan Daniel.
"Under Rob's leadership, our filter business has significantly improved its profitability through manufacturing and distribution process improvements," said Dan Daniel, ArvinMeritor president, Light Vehicle Aftermarket. "By involving work teams in the day-to-day operations, Rob has taken employee-suggested business improvements to the bottom line -- we look forward to the same results for ride control."
Malone has held a number of management and leadership positions within ArvinMeritor, including vice president and general manager for the joint venture, Arvin-Kayaba, LLC. Before that he was vice president of Sales and Marketing for the former Arvin Ride Control division, where he also served as account manager for the Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi and Saturn businesses.
With a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University, Malone was chosen in 1990 as an Arvin Scholar, a general management development program that included an 18-month management-training program and study at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management/Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering in Evanston, Ill. Following the training program, he earned a joint master's degree in business administration and engineering with a focus on operations management.
