Celebrities' Designer Couture Featured in GM's Pre-Oscar ten Fashion Event Auctioned on eBay for Charity

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - The designer clothing worn by ten celebrities, including Minnie Driver, Jane Leeves, Kate Beckinsale and LeAnn Rimes, at General Motors' pre-Oscar ten event will be auctioned on eBay starting June 20th at www.ebay.com/GMten with winning bids being matched up to $3,500 by General Motors. All proceeds go to each celebrity's charity of choice.

The ten event illustrated the connection between automobiles and high-fashion. GM showcased its very own "tens" in production and concept vehicles with strong styling cues and celebrity models who are "tens" in the eyes of the entertainment and fashion worlds walked the runway in equally inspiring fashions.

Top designers including Valentino, Gucci and Badgley Mischka provided couture clothing for the celebrities to model in the fashion show and auction off for charity.

"The event brought General Motors and celebrities together for charity in a fun, designer-inspired pre-Oscar evening that showcased the trends and connection between vehicle and fashion design, " said Mike Jackson, GM Western Region General Manager.

The ten designer gowns, celebrity fashion show participants and charities benefiting include:

  • Badgley Mischka brown, black and cocoa velvet beaded dress with heavily sequined bodice and plunging V back worn by Jules Asner benefits The Thomas Pecorelli Memorial Fund.

  • Carolina Herrera all black velvet and satin dress with low V neck, sweeping train and satin trim worn by LeAnn Rimes benefits Amie Karen Cancer Fund.

  • Christian Dior form-fitting pink chiffon 40's-inspired dress with heavy diamante accents, crossed straps in the back and flesh-colored lining from bodice to top of the thigh worn by actress Rose McGowan benefits Children of the Night.

  • Dolce & Gabbana sexy black below-the-knee silk and knit dress with chiffon sleeves accented by a lace push-up bra worn by Rachel Weisz benefits X-Appeal.

  • Gucci free flowing black empire strapless dress, belted in front at the bodice with layers of chiffon and a separate black corset worn by Jane Leeves benefits National Breast Cancer Coalition.

  • Luella Bartley black suit with four button sleeves, tuxedo shirt, vest, and boy-cut brushed cotton pant worn by Christina Applegate benefits The Center for the Advancement of Nonviolence.

  • Matthew Williamson beautiful strapless Indian-inspired fuscia pink chiffon dress with embroidery, gold sequins and long sweeping train worn by Shiva Rose benefits V Day.

  • Oscar de la Renta black satin gown with beautiful cut-outs, a white flower belt and flesh-colored lining to mid-thigh worn by Janel Moloney benefits Voices of Harmony.

  • Valentino fitted black lace flamenco-style dress, off the shoulders, flesh-colored body suit, nude lining, sequined black with a tulle bottom and delicate beaded hemline worn by Minnie Driver benefits Facing Forward.

  • Vera Wang one-of-a-kind black strapless satin ball gown with scalloped hem and beautifully detailed bows in the back worn by Kate Beckinsale benefits National Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
