NewView Technologies, Inc. Named Charter Endorser of AMR Research's Enterprise Commerce Management Software Bill of Rights
BOSTON--June 18, 2002--NewView Joins Top Analyst Firm and Enterprise Software Providers
in Leading Industry-wide Initiative
NewView Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has been named a charter endorser of AMR Research's Enterprise Commerce Management (ECM) Software Bill of Rights.
In order to be named a charter endorser, NewView Technologies, Inc. was required to submit a disclosure statement based on the key tenets of the analyst firm's Vendor Expectation Document, focusing on software quality, delivery schedules, pricing, development accountability, and technical support.
AMR Research's ECM Vendor Expectations Document and Software Bill of Rights, released earlier this year, are the result of six months of collaboration between 50 executives from 30 Fortune 1,000 companies in the manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, aerospace, and chemical industries and the world's leading software providers. (See press release, "AMR Research Releases Ground-Breaking Software 'Bill of Rights' for New Collaboration in Technology Industry," Jan. 14, 2002). The goal of the initiative was to give vendor companies the opportunity to fully disclose their best practices to prospective customers, while shifting focus toward a more collaborative development standard. All disclosure statements are available publicly at www.amrresearch.com/ecm.
ECM is a blueprint that enables clients to plan and manage the critical applications, business processes, and technologies they need to support employees, customers, and suppliers. Using the ECM methodology, AMR Research works with companies to assess how existing systems can work together more effectively and efficiently, and provides recommendations for changes that will have immediate and long-term return on investment (ROI).
"The success of this initiative is incumbent on vendors who are willing to provide information on their company's best practices in relation to software development and deployment," said Bob Parker, Vice President, Enabling Technologies at AMR Research. "By serving as a charter endorser, NewView Technologies, Inc. sends a clear message that they are focused on the important task of creating better working relationships with their partners and, even more importantly, their customers."
