Racing Champions Ertl Dismisses Arthur Andersen

    GLEN ELLYN, Ill.--June 18, 2002--Racing Champions Ertl Corporation today announced it has discontinued its engagement of Arthur Andersen LLP as its auditors. In light of the uncertainty surrounding Arthur Andersen LLP, the Company's Board of Directors believes this change is in the best interests of the Company. There have been no disagreements with Arthur Andersen LLP.
    The Company is currently in the final stages of engaging its new auditors for fiscal 2002. The Company anticipates that this process will be completed before June 30, 2002.
