Oshkosh Truck Appoints Deloitte & Touche LLP as Independent Auditors

    OSHKOSH, Wis.--June 14, 2002--The Board of Directors of Oshkosh Truck Corporation today announced that, based on the recommendation of its Audit Committee, Deloitte & Touche LLP has been appointed to replace Arthur Andersen LLP as independent auditors for the company. Arthur Andersen LLP had served as the company's independent auditors since its fiscal year ended September 30, 2000 and recently completed a review of the company's financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2002. The transition to Deloitte & Touche LLP is to begin immediately.
    The Board of Directors and Audit Committee of the company made the appointment of Deloitte & Touche LLP after careful consideration of developments affecting Arthur Andersen LLP. The decision to change auditors was not the result of any disagreement between the company and Arthur Andersen LLP on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure. The selection of Deloitte & Touche LLP was based on a careful investigation of the firm, including its audit team, public company audit expertise, industry-related experience, commitment to client service, national and international office capabilities and litigation record.
