NAMARS PR: Pierce Wins Historic Fourth in a Row...
PIERCE WINS HISTORIC FOURTH IN A ROW
BISCHAK BAGS FIRST EVER
June 13, 2002
SPEEDWAY, IN Aaron Pierce became this first Driver in NAMARS history to win four races in a row last night, in round seven of "Thursday Night Lightning" at the Indianapolis Speedrome. Pierce engaged in a fierce battle with Speedrome MidgetCar rival, Bobby East, for all fifty laps of a spectacular feature event. The outcome was decided in the fourth corner of lap 50, when East, while running wheel-to-wheel with Pierce, tangled with year 2000 Speedrome MidgetCar champion, Daryl Campbell, while Pierce went to the third groove to win the drag race to the checkers. MidgetCar rookie Shawn Stout, Kyle Burch, and Bobby Smith rounded out the top five. Pierce, NAMARS Year 200 Rookie of the Year, moves to six on the all-time winner list with seven career victories, behind Ryan Newman. Thirteen year-old Derek Bischak won his career-first Kenyon MidgetCar feature over Mario Marietta and rookie Bryan Clausen.
