H2 Dealers Sprouting Up Across the US

Dealerships open in the following markets: New Orleans, LA, Detroit, MI, Casper, WY, Norfolk, VA, Rochester, NY, Manchester, NH
Detroit, Mich- The world's premiere off-road vehicles, the HUMMER H1 and soon to market HUMMER H2, are at six new GM HUMMER dealerships in Metairie, Louisiana, Troy, Michigan, Casper, Wyoming, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rochester, New York, and Manchester, New Hampshire.
In each of these markets General Motors signed a new HUMMER division dealer agreement with dealerships that exemplify the highest standards of performance among GM dealers in customer service, sales and profitability.
As of June 12, 2002, the newest HUMMER dealerships include:
- Michael Murphy will open HUMMER of Metairie Inc. covering the New Orleans market in Metairie, Louisiana.
- David Fischer is appointed one of the metro Detroit dealerships, Suburban HUMMER, in Troy, Michigan.
- In Wyoming, Timothy White of White's Mountain Motors will open a HUMMER dealership in Casper, Wyoming.
- Covering the Norfolk, Virginia Market, Kenneth Hall will open Hall HUMMER in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
- Edward Meagher is appointed the Valley HUMMER dealership in Rochester, New York and Gerard Montembeault is appointed Dobles HUMMER in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The addition of these six new dealer points brings the total number of new GM HUMMER dealerships to 90 of the 150 planned by summer of 2002.
Customers at the new GM HUMMER dealerships can expect treatment competitive with other luxury manufacturers. In the future, that will include a unique and daring dealer environment. The first of these HUMMER exclusive stores will open this summer in Milwaukee.
The GM HUMMER division consists of two models, the H1, based on the military HUMVEE, and the all-new 2003 H2 SUV. The H1 has two distinct body styles, a 4-Door Wagon and 4-Door Soft-Top. The H2 SUV will go on sale in July 2002.
General Motors and AM General reached an agreement in December 1999 in which GM acquired exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide.
