JIMMY KITE A MILE HIGH IN COLORADO

JIMMY KITE A MILE HIGH IN COLORADO

-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga., Tuesday, June 11, 2002 - Jimmy Kite will return to the
cockpit of the #59 Westcon Racing/ Westcon Elevator/ Bloomer Beast this
weekend at Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR) in Fountain, Colorado.
The Stockbridge, Georgia resident will be making his third United States
Auto Club (USAC) Silver Crown series start of 2002 in Sunday’s 100-mile/ 100
lap event.

Kite, the 1997 Silver Crown Rookie of the Year, commented: “After we left
Nazareth with some unfinished business I asked the guys if I could run the
car at Pikes Peak. They were happy to put me in the car and I am thrilled to
get the chance to keep running such good equipment. We gelled pretty quickly
but after a few more days together I think we can put the Westcon Racing/
Westcon Elevator/ Bloomer Beast upfront.”

Kite first drove the Westcon entry at Nazareth where the race was stopped
early due to poor weather with no final results posted. However, the short
time in the car gave Kite a positive feeling about the Beast chassis/
Bloomer engine-combination.

“The car was just awesome and the team did a great job with almost no track
time,” remarked the 1998 Indianapolis 500 ‘fastest rookie qualifier’.
“Nazareth wasn’t a real test for this car or team because the weather had it
down to one groove and no one could pass. But, I think this weekend should
really show the qualities of the car. I am looking forward to driving it and
finding out just what it can do on a traditional one-mile oval. I love Pikes
Peak and it suits my style well. I am looking forward to a good weekend for
the Westcon car.”

Kite last drove at PPIR in 2000 in a one-year old chassis for Blueprint
Racing in the Indy Racing League (IRL). He was making his way up through a
field of new cars when a faulty fuel pump ended his day prematurely.

Kite began racing quarter-midgets at the age of eight and worked his way up
through mini-sprints, USAC midgets, sprint cars and Silver Crown cars to the
IRL. He is a five-time national champion in various open-wheel series with
countless victories. He has a career total of 22 Indy Racing events and
$1,232,000 in career IRL earnings.
