6-10 Press Release
FOR RELEASE WEEK OF 6-24-6-28
LEBANON VALLEY READIES FOR WINSTON CUP INVASION
JUNE 10, 2002
WEST LEBANON NY- In just a few weeks, June 27th to be exact, the racing world
will once again be focused on the return of Winston Cup stars Tony Stewart
and Dave Blaney to the high banks of the super fast Lebanon Valley Speedway.
These two drivers will get down and dirty in the 100 lap Sunoco Race Fuels
358 modified Super Dirt Series against the best 358 modified drivers in the
Northeast.
Last year the CARQUEST Auto Parts sponsored event drew a standing room only
crowd and produced an awesome race on a lightning fast racing surface. Tony
Stewart took off like a rabbit being chased by a fox and challenged the
star-studded field to catch him. The former sprint driver smoked the field
enroute to his first ever dirt modified victory. Blaney, like Stewart, also
had an excellent run that wound up in a fourth place finish.
Can lightning strike twice? Tony Stewart believes he can invade Lebanon and
steal the loot from the West Lebanon facility. Dave Blaney has no intentions
in taking a back seat to Stewart or any of the stars of the Dirt circuit on
June 27th. The dirt drivers say no way!
The showdown takes place @ 7pm and is brought to you in part by CARQUEST Auto
Parts, De Crescente Distributors, Molson Beer, Hess Express, I Love NY,
Columbia County of Tourism, Sprint PCS and Saratoga Water.
Tickets for this "Gotta See" exciting event are on sale and available through
our ticket hot lines between 9am-5pm Mon.-Fri. @ (518) 794-9606 and (518)
794-9965. For more information on this show or the racing at Lebanon Valley
