ADS Logistics Provides Web Logistics Interface for Schaefer Stevedoring

    HOMEWOOD, Ill.--June 11, 2002--

Logistics information, available through a secure link on Schaefer's website, provides flexibility for shipments and receipts by truck, rail, barge or ocean vessel and visibility
to product information from time-of-shipment through
final-destination material receipt.

ADS Logistics (ADS), a national provider of integrated logistics services to the metals industry, announced today the successful implementation of its metals logistics information management system, LoMaS(R), as the engine for a web based product communication and inventory management system for Schaefer Stevedoring.
Schaefer Stevedoring sought a web environment to communicate material information for product moving through the Ports of Brownsville, TX and Veracruz, MX. The information, available through a secure link on Schaefer's website, provides flexibility for shipments and receipts by truck, rail, barge or ocean vessel. The system provides visibility to product information from time-of-shipment, through final-destination material receipt. Customers are able to view and manage their inventory via the Web, as well as initiate material releases. Delivery to end-destination information is posted as well.
"The site enables customers to view information 24/7 and the entire process provides ease of use and increased accuracy while simplifying the efforts customers must use to manage their inventory," states Ken Schaefer, president of Schaefer Stevedoring. "ADS Logistics provided the power for this initiative through LoMaS(R), a supply chain management system, customized to our specific needs, quickly and effectively."
LoMaS(R) is a logistics transaction execution technology solution integrating the metals supply chain, providing visibility to the product piece and connectivity between the participants of a relevant supply chain. LoMaS(R) can be operated independent of, or intimately integrated with a customer's existing technology platform, based on the customer's preference, and can be customized to meet the customer's individual needs.

Schaefer Stevedoring provides product handling and vessel loading/discharge services at the Ports of Brownsville and Veracruz, MX. For further information contact Ken Schaefer, president, Schaefer Stevedoring, (956) 831-4001, kesbrnsvl@aol.com.
