#41 Target Pocono race report

TEAM TARGET FINISHES 21st IN POCONO
Spencer drops to 21st in NASCAR Winston Cup championship points

LONG POND, Pa. (June 9, 2002) - The No. 41 Target Dodge Intrepid R/T driven
by Jimmy Spencer finished in 21st place in the Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway.
Spencer dropped to 21st position in NASCAR Winston Cup championship points;
he is one point behind Bobby Labonte who is currently in 20th place.

Due to track conditions, qualifying for the Pocono 500 was cancelled on
Friday. The field was set per owner's points and the Target Dodge started
the race in 18th position. Although he had managed to move into the top-15,
Spencer radioed in at the start that the car was very loose. Team Target
adjusted the track bar in a 14.40-second pit stop, restarting Spencer in
13th position.

On lap 43, Spencer noticed that the front-end of the Target Dodge was
sliding. The team fought with this problem for the majority of the event
but Spencer managed to keep the Target Dodge racing in the top-20. The
Target Dodge took the checkered flag in 21st place, finishing one lap down
to the leaders.

Next on the schedule for the No. 41 Target team is the Sirius Satellite
Radio 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 19, 2002.
