Buick Announces New Sponsorship Agreement With PGA Tour

HARRISON, N.Y. - Buick announced today a new four-year agreement to continue its sponsorship of the PGA Tour.

Under the agreement, which runs from 2003- 2006, Buick will continue as title-sponsor of three PGA Tour events - The Buick Classic (Harrison, N.Y.), the Buick Invitational (La Jolla, Calif.) and the Buick Open (Grand Blanc, Mich.). Buick will retain its status as the official car of the PGA Tour, supplying courtesy vehicles to PGA Tour events throughout the United States. In addition, Buick has sponsorship agreements with four PGA Tour professionals, including the world's number one player, Tiger Woods.

"As the largest, and longest running, corporate sponsor of the PGA Tour, we are very pleased to announce this new agreement," said Roger Adams, Buick General Manager. "With record tournament purses, extensive network television exposure and an increase in spectator interest, we look forward to being an integral part of the continued growth and popularity of golf and the PGA Tour."

Buick is now in its fifth decade as the PGA Tour's original sponsor. Buick is title or presenting sponsor of five PGA Tour events in 2002, including the Tampa Bay Classic presented by Buick, and has sponsorship agreements with four PGA Tour players - Tiger Woods, David Berganio Jr., Matt Gogel and J.J. Henry.

Buick has been the official car of the PGA Tour since 1984 and an official sponsor of the domestic events of the World Golf Championships since 2000. Through its five PGA Tour events, Buick has donated more than $23 million to charities in it tournament markets.

In January, 2002, Buick took over the title-sponsorship of the Buick Scramble, the world's largest amateur golf tournament with more than 100,000 participants.
