Velant Names William Heigl Director of Logistics Sales
ATLANTA--June 5, 2002--Velant, Inc., the leading provider of transportation planning solutions, today announced the addition of William F. Heigl as Director of Logistics Sales.
Mr. Heigl will help spur additional growth for Velant's Transportation Management Center (TMC) solution, the company's next-generation technology designed to optimize fleet and shipment planning and reduce transportation costs by 10 to 40%.
Previously, Mr. Heigl served as Vice President of Strategic Sales for NTE, a Web-based logistics technology and execution company. At NTE, Mr. Heigl was responsible for driving the growth of the company's private trading communities and other transportation solutions. He focused primarily on Fortune 1000 companies with complex supply chains.

Bill has been in the logistics industry for more than 20 years and has a great understanding of both transportation and technology. Prior to NTE, Mr. Heigl co-founded and served as Managing Director of Pursuit Logistics, a Massachusetts-based supply chain event management company. Mr. Heigl has also held various positions with New Penn, Skyway Logistics, Transcon Lines, and Roadway Express.
Mr. Heigl attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA and will be based in Boston.
Michael J. Heisman also recently joined the company as Logistics Coordinator. Previously, Mr. Heisman worked at NTE as Manager of Transportation and Trading Operations and also served as a Business Analyst/Project Manager for BAX Global Supply Chain Management. Mr. Heisman received a BBA in Marketing with an emphasis in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation from Georgia Southern University.
