Montgomery Looking for First ARCA Win at Pocono
Mt. Juliet, Tenn. (June 4, 2002) - After changes were made to his #27 Montgomery Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo, ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Chase Montgomery is confident that his first time at Pocono Raceway will be one to remember.
"I feel like we've got the team and the equipment to get our first win," Montgomery said. "We've had a tough season, but I have a feeling with some of the changes we've made, things are really going to turn around for us."
Thursday's practice session will be the first time the 18-year-old ARCA rookie of the year contender will be on the 2.5-mile superspeedway.
"I am really looking forward to running at Pocono," Montgomery said. "We've gotten several pointers about getting around the track from guys who have been here before."
Montgomery is a big fan of the superspeedways, especially after sitting on the pole at Daytona International Speedway earlier this season and finishing fifth at Nashville Superspeedway in April.
The Pocono ARCA 200 will be held Saturday, June 8. Speed Channel will air the event Sunday, June 10 from 8 PM - 10 PM, re-airing 6/11 @ 1 AM & 6/12 @ 4 PM.
