Delco Remy Names Harry Schmink Vice President-Business Development

ANDERSON, Ind., June 3 -- Delco Remy America, Inc., President Richard L. Stanley has named Harry E. Schmink vice president of Business Development. In his new assignment, he will lead all merger and acquisition activities for DRA internationally and seek competitive growth opportunities for Anderson and surrounding communities.

"This assignment supports DRA's leadership strategy in the global, original equipment market for starters and alternators and the company's commitment to bring new jobs to Anderson," Stanley said.

Schmink will continue his key role in structuring the acquisition of Delphi's alternator business. He joined Delco Remy in 1997 as a director in the manufacturing group followed by positions as heavy-duty plant manager and as the vice president of heavy-duty sales and marketing. Prior to Delco Remy, he served as the director of venture analysis with Delphi Interior and Lighting Systems in Warren, Michigan.

A graduate of Frankton High School, Schmink earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting at Indiana University and an MBA in finance at Ball State University.
