DURA Automotive Promotes Skotak to Corporate Officer and Vice President of Human Resources

    ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.--May 29, 2002--DURA Automotive Systems, Inc. , announced today that Theresa L. Skotak, 44, has been promoted to officer and vice president of human resources, effective immediately. She replaces Mike Paquette, who retired in January 2002. Skotak reports to Karl Storrie, president and chief executive officer of DURA Automotive Systems.
    "Theresa has made significant contributions to the company's global performance, management systems and employee relations," said Storrie. "I'm very pleased to announce this well-deserved promotion."
    Skotak has 24 years of human resources expertise, primarily in the global automotive supply industry. Since 1999, she has served as director of corporate human resources for DURA. Prior to that, she was director of human resources for Excel Industries, a $1.5 billion automotive supplier based in Elkhart, Ind., that was acquired by DURA. Her previous experience also includes serving as the human resources and communications manager in North America for the Assembly and Test Division of Lucas Industries, a $4.5 billion global automotive supplier headquartered in the United Kingdom.
    Skotak earned an MBA degree from Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Mich, and a bachelor's degree from Siena Heights University, Adrian, Mich. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
    In addition, Skotak is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the International Institute of Human Resource Management.
