Hometown Auto Retailers Names Two New Board Members
WATERTOWN, Conn.--May 29, 2002--Hometown Auto Retailers Inc. (OTCBB:HCAR) (OTCBB:HCARE) today announced that Timothy C. Moynahan, 62, and Steven A. Fournier, 47, have been elected to Hometown's board of directors.Moynahan and Fournier fill the Hometown board seats left vacant in April 2002 with the resignation of Dominic Colasacco and Louis I. Margolis.
"These are two very seasoned executives that will make a positive impact on our board immediately," said Corey Shaker, Hometown's president and chief executive officer.
"Tim's background as an attorney and Steve's background as a CPA, plus the fact that both have some entrepreneurial blood flowing in their veins, are strong plusses to the Hometown board. I look forward to working with both gentlemen for some time to come."
Moynahan has more than 37 years of experience in active law practice and is the owner of Moynahan, Minnella, Broderick and Tindall, a 12-attorney law firm based in Waterbury, Conn.
Admitted to practice law in Connecticut State Courts, the Federal District Courts, the Second Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States, Moynahan is also a vice president for New York City based Paula A. Moynahan Skin Care.
He serves on the board of directors of The Institute of Human Virology, a center of the University of Maryland School of Medicine that is dedicated to the discovery, research, treatment and prevention of chronic viral disease and virally linked cancers.
Moynahan also serves as president of the Connecticut chapter of the Ireland Chamber of Commerce In The United States Inc. (ICCUSA). Moynahan received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C. and his bachelor's degree in history from Providence College in Providence, R.I.
Fournier is president and chief executive officer of Gar-Kenyon Technologies, a New Haven, Conn.-based manufacturer of hydraulic aerospace components for the military and business jet markets. A certified public accountant, Fournier also serves as president and chief operating officer of Matthews Ventures, a New Haven-based diversified holding company.
Previously, he has held positions in a number of accounting firms, including a stint as a partner with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells. Fournier currently serves a Director, Treasurer, and member of the executive committee of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Fournier graduated from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. with a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
