eMotion Mobility Selects Zandiant Technologies to Supply Telematics Systems for Electric Car-Sharing Program

LAKE FOREST, Calif., May 28 -- Zandiant Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has been selected to supply telematics systems for eMotion Mobility's innovative car-sharing program. Zandiant's advanced telematics systems will be incorporated into eMotion's zero-emission electric vehicles based on the MCC smart City-Coupe. Zandiant's telematics system includes Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, along with digital cellular and wireless local area network (WLAN) communications.

"Zandiant's advanced telematics system will enable eMotion to provide its users with convenient hands-free wireless communications and GPS-assisted navigation," said Jim Varian, eMotion Mobility Vice President of Operations & Systems. "Zandiant was selected due to its extensive vehicle electronics and software development background, and proven ability to develop custom OEM telematics systems."

"Zandiant is pleased to be a part of the eMotion car-sharing program," said Albert Wong, Zandiant President and CEO. "The eMotion car-sharing system will benefit greatly from the inherent flexibility of Zandiant's fourth-generation telematics platform."

eMotion Mobility is currently developing a personal mobility system in Atlanta, Georgia, using smooth, sleek electric cars available on a per-trip basis. Taking a page from the innovative European concept of car-sharing, users will be able to access a car, whenever they need it, offering the freedom associated with owning a car without the cost and hassle of ownership. eMotion's car-sharing system will provide instant access to a network of cars throughout the city, 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. The company's fleet of zero-emission electric vehicles and reserved parking will be convenient to business centers, universities, shopping malls, transit stations, residential communities, popular public areas and other key locations.

eMotion Mobility plans to expand the concept to California, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York and other major cities in the future and eventually build as many as 5,000 cars a year, which would make it by far the largest electric vehicle business in the United States.
