Superior Industries' Business Continues Strong

    VAN NUYS, Calif.--May 23, 2002--Superior Industries International, Inc. said today that there has not been any fundamental change in its business outlook which would account for the recent weakness in its stock price and reiterated that the Company's business continues to be strong.
    "In our recent press release announcing record first quarter results, Superior announced that its aluminum wheel business is better than it's ever been. We continue to believe that all signs point to continued strength in the months to come," said Mr. Louis Borick, President.
