Global Auto Systems Announces Key Appointments

DETROIT, May 23 -- Global Auto Systems announces the appointment of three journalism professionals who will further improve the company's already thorough coverage of the worldwide auto industry. The company publishes the weekly Global Auto Insider, available by subscription through its GlobalAutoNet.com website.

Laura Sky Brown is Global Auto Systems' news director. She has worked as a journalist for more than 20 years, including 10 years at Automobile Magazine, and has been an editor for Classic Automobile Register and other publications. She received a degree in journalism from the University of Michigan and later studied at the graduate school of journalism at the University of Strasbourg, France. A self-described news addict, she is managing editor of the weekly Global Auto Insider newsletter and writes the Global Auto Headlines daily news column for the website.

Soo Lee is Global Auto Systems' graphic designer. She is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. She spent six years as a graphic designer for Walt Disney Imagineering and won a Thea (Themed Entertainment Association) award for design work at Disney's EPCOT center. Among her major interests are multimedia, information interface design, and website design.

Bengt Halvorson is Global Auto Systems' technical editor and webmaster. He brings more than four years of experience on staff at Automobile, Car and Driver, and the British Autocar magazines, and another two years as a freelance contributing writer and editor for consumer magazines and automotive Web sites. Halvorson has an unusual background for an automotive writer, holding physics and philosophy degrees from the University of Michigan. He has a strong interest in product testing, applications of new technologies, and in the environmental responsibilities of automakers.

"We're really fortunate to have three such dedicated and hard-working people on our staff," said Paul Lienert, president and publisher of Global Auto Systems. "Laura, Soo and Bengt bring lots of experience, talent and good ideas to our organization, and they'll help us to make Global Auto Insider and GlobalAutoNet.com the definitive news sources for auto-industry professionals."

The weekly Global Auto Insider newsletter is subscribed to and relied upon by many industry leaders and executives. The GlobalAutoNet.com website is also the source for the industry's most insightful daily news roundup and for features, reviews, and news analysis about the worldwide auto industry. The newsletter and website are supported by a global network of veteran correspondents throughout Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
