NAMARS 500 Updates

Speedway, IN  Late entries filed recently by 2000 Speedrome champion, Daryl Campbell, perennial Speedrome winner, Bobby East, and 2000 NAMARS champion Travis Welpott continue to bolster and already impressive field of MidgetCars for this year's "NAMARS 500".  The trio will join defending 500 and NAMARS champion, Travis Miniea, "Brat Pack" members Billy Wease, Todd and Teddy Beach, and Shane Hollingsworth, as well as Aaron Pierce, Shawn Stout, Matt Maners, and Adam Nuetzel along with many others for "The Most Extreme 100 Miles in MidgetCar Racing" this Thursday at the Indianapolis Speedrome.  Late reports indicate that open wheel standouts Tony Elliot and Matt Westfall will be on the grounds ride hunting, and available as backup Drivers as well.

"Pole Day" qualifications begin at 2:00pm Wednesday under a new format which will provide each Entrant three attempts at four-lap qualification runs.  Wednesday's activities will conclude with a fifty lap Kenyon Midget Car Series feature race and a fifty lap consolation race for Drivers qualified 25th and slower to make Thursday's 33 Car field.  Spectator gates open at 4:00pm Thursday for the 5:00pm Kenyon MidgetCar feature and the 7:00pm green flag from Grand Marshal Lonnie Caruthers, celebrating the 20th anniversary his 1982 500 lap MidgetCar win, to start this year's NAMARS 500.

The Event, along with the 4th Annual NAMARS Indiana Five Crown Nationals will be broadcast live on www.RSBN.net for race fans unable to attend trackside.
