General Motors Awards Dale Earnhardt Award of Excellence
Independence, Mo. - In recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to the GM Dealer Fixed Operations Advisory Board (DFOAB), Galen Boyer, dealer principal of Galen Boyer Motors Inc. of Independence, MO, was honored with the Dale Earnhardt Award of Excellence. Boyer is the third recipient of this award since its inception.
Boyer was acknowledged for dedicating more than seven weeks of his time to the DFOAB in 2001, resulting in many significant successes. His endeavors include enabling cooperation between GM and its dealers to change the cross-line warranty policy, the tool policy and in assuring that all parts, with the exception of hazardous material, are returnable to GM.
"Galen's diplomatic skills in bringing people together and getting them to understand dealership issues and concerns has made the parts and service business better for both GM and dealers," said Peter Lord, executive director - GM Service Operations.
In addition to honoring its namesake, the Dale Earnhardt Award of Excellence was established to encourage continued improvements in the Advisory Board's processes. GM and the DFOAB selected Boyer based on his passion for work and his ability to inspire the best in others. Just as Earnhardt was driven to win, Boyer exhibits the same qualities in ensuring that GM vehicle owners are the most satisfied in the industry.
"Due to Galen's commitment to the process, the DFOAB is an extremely effective dealer advisory board in GM today," said Duane Miller, general director - GM Parts Sales.
