VALENCIA TEST 14-18 May 2002

Summary:
BMW WilliamsF1 team has concluded a five-day test at Valencia on Saturday.
Ralf Schumacher and test team drivers Marc GenÈ and Antonio Pizzonia drove
the FW24 in preparation for the Monaco Grand Prix. The team was encouraged
by a new circuit lap record set by Marc GenÈ (1:10.452). The test was
focused on tyre work with Michelin, aero, car set-up and brake work.

Sam Michael (Chief Operations Engineer, WilliamsF1):
"It was a long test in Valencia last week where the test team managed to
get through the majority of an extensive test program. We have tested aero,
brake, and suspension parts and tyre compounds for Monaco as well as
various engine developments. The test finished with a wet session on
Saturday to give Michelin more information on what direction to pursue with
intermediate tyres. Marc GenÈ drove every day for the team while the second
car was shared by Antonia Pizzonia and Ralf Schumacher. We are now looking
forward to Monaco."

Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director):
"As Monaco is clearly not one of the demanding circuits for the engine,
this week's test obviously was not focussed on engine development, we just
did some fine-tuning. The main targets were tyre development and car
set-up. We have covered a good mileage and are quite pleased with the
results of the test."
