TripPak EXPRESS Deploys Canadian Drop Box Network
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--May 20, 2002--The TripPak EXPRESS drop box network will soon be available in Canada, extending the low-cost express pick up and delivery service found in over one thousand truck stops across America. With over 700 fleets, including many Canadian carriers taking advantage of nearly universal coverage in the states, truck drivers trust and demand TripPak. That familiar yellow TripPak EXPRESS drop box will appear in Canada on July 1st, to coincide with Canada Day, a time when Canadians celebrate the birth of their confederation in 1867."From Landstar, Prime and J.B. Hunt, to regional carriers along the border, our customers have pressed us to go international," explained Mark A. Cleveland, Executive Vice President of TMI, the parent company for TripPak EXPRESS and TripPak ONLINE. "We have a proven, reliable service and considering the extended border crossing delays, it has never been more important to be convenient for drivers." While the network is deployed to serve immediate fleet demands, TripPak continues to field inquiries from Canadian truck stops wanting to participate. "TripPak expansion is powered by our volume and we see service availability going up while fleet prices remain steady," Cleveland adds.
"We've been closely tracking TripPak for years and are eager to see them in Canada," said Murray K. Mullen, CEO of Mullen Transportation, Inc., based in Aldersyde, Alberta, "it's a strong product that we are very interested in to help improve our cash flow. Their intelligent, sensible approach to imaging and processing critical driver expenses, receipts and trip records gives me real confidence, because with TripPak we maintain control of a shipper's document and don't risk disappointing a driver."
To mark the launch of international service, TripPak drop boxes across North America will now feature both the U.S. and Canadian flags. They will also direct drivers to the new box locator tools at www.trippak.com and promote the "One Trip, One Envelope, Every Time" educational theme, helping improve cash flow for drivers and fleets alike by reinforcing the importance of submitting trip records after every delivery. In combination with TripPak ONLINE, the overnight scanning service and workflow software, any Canadian fleet can outsource their mailroom and be paperless tomorrow.
"We share a lot of customers and there's a ton of excitement in this market for TMI's imaging service," said Andy Brownell, President of Trip Data & Safety Management, Inc., a leading developer and provider of log processing software headquartered in Moncton, New Brunswick. "It's great news to see TripPak offering their world class express mail and imaging services to carriers in Canada. This will be greatly appreciated by the many professional truck drivers traveling our highways."
"Our recent National Survey of Driver Preferred Services revealed that drivers placed a very high value on the convenience of utilizing TripPak to return their paper work to their employer for processing," observed Gordon Klemp, CEO of the National Transportation Institute. "These same drivers showed a significantly higher satisfaction index with the pay practices of their employer regarding the timeliness of payment for loads. With the importance of timely pay practices, we were not surprised that it finished as one of the top two most valued services a company could provide to a driver."
