Arizona Groups Announce Unique 4-Series Fantasy Racing League
for Summer; 100% of Donations to Benefit Victory Junction Gang
Tempe, AZ – Victory Junction has learned that two Arizona companies have joined to create a new online fantasy racing game to benefit Victory Junction, the camp for seriously ill children started by NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie.
The American Race Trucks/MWG 'Indy2Indy' Fantasy Motorsports Franchise League will begin with the races on Memorial Day and run through the last week of September, when the U.S.G.P. is run at Indianapolis. Players can participate for a contribution of $10, $25, or $45, all of which will go to Victory Junction. Players can register at www.mwgfmfl.com.
“A lot of race fans haven't heard about Victory Junction,” said Greg Larrimore, national director for the American Race Truck Series. “And a lot of fans didn't get in a fantasy leagues this winter. By registering to play in the MWG FMFL this summer, they can join a really fun game and all the proceeds will go to Victory Junction. Plus, they could win some pretty cool prizes, too!”
“We think Victory Junction is a great cause,” said Ken Owens of Men With Guts, a local e-commerce company. “It's for critically ill kids who would otherwise never get to go to a camp like this, and do many of the things other kids get to do. We wanted to help, and our fantasy racing game seemed like a perfect way to raise money for them.”
Unlike other fantasy leagues, the MWG FMFL follows four different series: NASCAR Winston Cup, CART, the IRL and Formula 1. Players choose four drivers each weekend, at least one per scheduled race from those series. There are no drafts, no budgets, no rosters, and no restrictions on how many starts per driver; players just select who they believe will win or score the most points. Prizes are awarded weekly for the most total points scored by one team, and for one team correctly picking all the race winners. At the end of the season, championship prizes are awarded to the top ten players in cumulative points.
100% of all online donations will go to Victory Junction, which will issue a receipt to each participant who makes a donation. Players can participate for a donation as small at $10. A $25 donation includes league membership and a free soda pop can cooler. A $45 donation – in honor of Adam Petty, the 4th generation driver who was killed in 2000, and the inspiration for Victory Junction -- includes membership plus a free MWG 'No Guts No Glory' t-shirt. All prizes are being donated by Men With Guts and American Race Trucks.
