Qualifying Notes for Race 1 at Mosport

1:55 PM – Field given the five-minute board to commencement of the 20-minute
qualifying session for Race 1 on Saturday.
1:58 PM – In testing the fast time was up to three seconds quicker than the
previous lap record.
1:59 PM – Cars roll under sunny skies, but cool temperatures.
2:00 PM – In morning practice No. 3 Sellers was quickest, with a time of
1:18.141.
2:01 PM – No. 46 Schiavo is being shown the black flag for blend line
violation exiting the pits.
2:02 PM – No. 7 Massari is reported to have a misfire.
2:04 PM – BLACK ALL, No. 32 Aschenbach has spun into the tire wall in turn
three. No. 32 has exited the car unharmed.
2:07 PM – Current top-five is No. 3, No. 2 Jones, No. 34 Wilkins, No. 33
Dyer and No. 24 McIntosh.
2:12 PM – Five minutes will remain when cars restart qualifying.
2:15 PM – Cars roll to recommence qualifying.
2:17 PM – No. 5 Imery has moved into fifth place.
2:18 PM – No. 22 Aube jumps into fifth spot.
2:18 PM – Top-five changing every lap.
2:19 PM – Top-three with one minute to go is No. 3, No. 2 and No. 34.
2:19 PM – CHECKERED.
2:20 PM – No. 3 Sellers captures his second pole of 2002 with a time of
1:18.107. Completing the top-three are No. 2 Jones and No. 34. No. 31 Meeks
is the fastest ACC competitor.
2:24 PM – No. 34 impacts the wall in turn three on the checkered flag lap.
