Honda Civic Finishes No. 1 First Time in Kelley Blue Book April Top 50 Rankings

IRVINE, Calif.--May 14, 2002--The Honda Civic, fueled by the debut of its 2003 Hybrid model, attracted more interest on the Kelley Blue Book Web site (www.kbb.com) than any other new vehicle last month.
It marked the first time the Civic has topped the monthly visitor interest at kbb.com, the nation's number one automotive site, as determined by an analysis of pricing reports issued for the 2001, 2002 and 2003 new car models. In March 2002, the Civic ranked fourth. The Chevrolet/GMC pickup truck fell to second place in the April kbb.com top 50 rankings, with the Honda Accord finishing third.
"Our kbb.com visitor inquiries last month reflected a resurgence of interest in passenger cars," said Charles Vogelheim, Kelley Blue Book editor. "They took the play away from trucks and SUVs for the first time in months." He pointed out that seven of the top 10 vehicles in the April kbb.com report were passenger cars.
Among other highlights in the April kbb.com rankings, the new Infiniti G35 and the Mercedes-Benz SL Class broke into the top 50 list for the first time last month. The G35 finished in the 34th spot and the Mercedes SL Class in 49th place.
