Hitachi High Technologies America, Inc., Tecnomatix Form Alliance to Develop Sanyo Surface Mount Machine Interfaces
NASHUA, N.H.--May 14, 2002--Tecnomatix Technologies, Ltd. , the leading provider of Manufacturing Process Management (MPM) software solutions, and Hitachi High Technologies America, Inc. (HHTA - formerly Nissei Sangyo America Co., Ltd.), a division of Hitachi High Technologies, the only exclusive worldwide distributor for the complete line of Sanyo Surface Mount Systems, today announced the formation of a strategic alliance to provide best-in-class high-speed and flexible Surface Mount Technology (SMT) placement equipment.
Further demonstrating its goal of creating world-class solutions for top hardware vendors, Tecnomatix Unicam, Inc., a subsidiary of Tecnomatix Technologies, will work with HHTA to develop a new machine interface for Sanyo Surface Mount Systems' TIM-5100 multi-functional mounter and the TCM 3000 family of chipshooters. During the initial stages of the project, Tecnomatix Unicam will work with HHTA to create a machine interface that will enable Sanyo Surface Mount Technology customers to switch to Sanyo equipment from other manufacturing platforms.
"We are pleased to be working with such an industry leader as Tecnomatix Unicam," said John Rukavina, national sales manager for HHTA. "The ability to program within Tecnomatix Unicam software and output directly to the Sanyo equipment will enhance our programming efficiency, and help to increase throughput, accuracy and repeatability. Our customers' bottom lines and quality will ultimately benefit from this combination of best-in-class equipment and fully integrated, collaborative software solutions."
Tecnomatix eMPower(TM) software will be the preferred and recommended software solution for users of Sanyo Surface Mount equipment. eMPower enables electronics manufacturers to succeed in their competitive marketplace by supporting the development of manufacturing and assembly processes from product conception to production, on-line and in real-time.
"Tecnomatix Unicam is committed to working closely with major machine manufacturers and distributors worldwide, like HHTA, to develop and deliver industry-leading solutions for electronics manufacturing processes," said Israel Levy, chief executive officer, Tecnomatix Unicam. "We look forward to bringing the powerful combination of eMPower solutions and HHTA/Sanyo technology to the SMT market."
