INTERMET Announces Changes to Operations Group
TROY, Mich., May 10 INTERMET Corporation, one of the world's leading manufacturers of cast-metal automotive components, today announced management changes that will allow for a more direct focus on key manufacturing initiatives.
Effective May 8, 2002, Todd A. Heavin, Group Vice President of Light Metals, and Olindo ("Al") A. Malizia, who recently joined the company as Group Vice President of Ferrous Metals, now report directly to Chairman and CEO John Doddridge. Michael J. Ryan, who served as Executive Vice President of Operations, has left the company to pursue other interests.
"Our focus on manufacturing efficiency and technology to achieve improved financial performance has been a priority for us," commented Doddridge. "We are determined to continue delivering on this priority. This new management structure will build on the foundation established by Mike during the last several years to take advantage of the many opportunities ahead."
Malizia joined the company after 23 years with TRW and predecessor companies, serving in a variety of operations management positions, including Director, Operations, of the Cast Products Group and Plant Manager at LucasVarity's Woodstock, Ontario, machining plant.
