Sports Car Grand Prix Features Affordable Ticket Pricing, International Car Club

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (May 8, 2002) -- The Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup Street Stock Series are gearing up for the Sports Car Grand Prix at The Glen, June 21-23. Fans will want to make sure they get in on the excitement, including five scheduled races and an International Car Club. 

With Watkins Glen International's affordable ticket pricing, race fans can bring the entire family out to the Sports Car Grand Prix. General admission for children age six to 12 is only $5, with those five and under admitted free. Adult general admission for Sunday's 6 Hours of The Glen, featuring the exotic sports cars of the Rolex Series, is $30. For only $10 more fans can purchase a weekend pass and catch Saturday's Ferrari Challenge race and two Grand-Am Cup 250-mile races. 

General admission allows fans a chance to watch from the infield and gives them access to the grandstands and pit terrace seating at no additional charge. Fans also have a chance to get up close and personal with their favorite teams and drivers, with complete paddock and garage access to the Rolex Series, Grand-Am Cup and Ferrari Challenge during the event. 

For sports car enthusiasts, Watkins Glen offers the International Car Club Corral and Hospitality Chalet. Designated car corrals will be available inside turn one, adjacent to the Hospitality Chalet, with corral spaces for Cars of Italy, Porsches, BMWs, British Makes and the American-made Corvette, as well as other makes and marques. Sports car owners can enjoy free reserved parking in the International Car Club Corral, as well as an opportunity to take parade laps on the racetrack. 

Fans still waiting for their dream car can still enjoy the Club's Hospitality Chalet, which will provide food and beverages on Sunday during the 6 Hours of The Glen, as well as a place sit down and socialize with fellow sports car lovers. International Car Club Corral & Hospitality Chalet admission, which includes reserved parking and parade laps, can complete the perfect Sports Car Grand Prix weekend for only an additional $45.
