Alex Job Racing - preview Sears Point
double start
The Alex Job Racing McKenna Porsche team is looking for a double victory to
start the American Le Mans Series season. After its flag-to-flag triumph in
the season-opening 12 Hours of Sebring, the team is chasing a second GT-class
win in the May 19 series race at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
"We always love to go to California and compete at Sears; it's one of our
favorite parts of the country," said team owner Alex Job. "We haven't won
there, but we're looking forward to turning that around this year. We're
looking for good results for this event because it is in our sponsor McKenna
Porsche's backyard."
factory finesse
The independent Alex Job Racing team has been honored with four Porsche
factory drivers. The all-German squad has Lucas Luhr and Sascha Maassen in
the No. 23 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and Timo Bernhard and Jörg Bergmeister in the
No. 22 Porsche.
Bernhard, Luhr and Maassen have raced at Sears Point, but all of the drivers
will have to relearn the 2.52-mile road course, which has been enhanced
through major structural upgrades. The track's elevation changes and new
smooth surface are similar to European circuits, which should benefit the
Alex Job McKenna drivers.
"It's a very technical track; it takes precision driving and a very good
setup to win here," Job explained. "Our drivers are the best in the
business. They're very experienced in these cars and on tracks like this.
We're very focused on getting the right setup for the race."
engineering expertise
Alex Job Racing has doubled its engineering strength, with Renaud Dufour
joining the team to engineer the No. 22 Porsche. Greg Fordahl will continue
as engineer for the No. 23 car.
beer 'n' brats
Maassen and Bergmeister will meet McKenna Porsche staff and customers at a
beer 'n' bratwurst event prior to the Sears Point race. They will be joined
by Alex Job and Alwin Springer, president of Porsche Motorsport North
America. Media are welcome to attend.

"Performance on the race track is as critical as performance at the
dealership," said McKenna general manager Neil Okun. "We know a lot of our
customers are avid race fans, and this is one way of showing our
appreciation, by giving them a way to follow their home team."
