ADVISORY/Mario Andretti Makes Guest Appearance At ''Nob Hill Toasts the California Mille'' At the Fairmont San Francisco
--WHAT: The public can preview one of the nation's most spectacular displays of vintage sports cars at "Nob Hill Toasts The California Mille." Sponsored by The Fairmont San Francisco, the outdoor event will showcase the 70 rare sports racing and production cars, dating from 1927 through 1957, which will participate in the prestigious California Mille. Patterned after the world-famous Italian Mille Miglia, the California Mille is a four-day, 1000-mile tour through Northern California. Legendary racecar driver Mario Andretti, who watched the Mille Miglia as a boy in Italy, will serve his award-winning Andretti wines at the event. The California Mille unites one-of-a-kind cars from across the globe. Highlighting this year's entries is a 1951 Ferrari 340 America whose owners have included racecar driver Signor. Sebastiani of Rome and Sydney Chaplin, son of Charlie Chaplin. An Alfa Romeo Zagato Spider (one of four in the world), a 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster, and a 1956 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing are just a few of the exceptional cars to be displayed at this world-class auto event. The public can also purchase tickets to the festive street party, "Nob Hill Toasts The California Mille." Partygoers can enjoy wine and spirits, a delicious Italian buffet and a chance to win exciting raffle prizes, courtesy of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
