Evernham Motorsports Hosts Inaugural Fan Appreciation Day

STATESVILLE, N.C. (May 7, 2002) - In appreciation of their support, Evernham
Motorsports invites fans to join Bill Elliott, Jeremy Mayfield, Casey Atwood
and Ray Evernham for the inaugural Evernham Motorsports Fan Appreciation
Day.  The event will be held Friday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the
Evernham Motorsports facilities in Statesville, N.C.

Elliott, Mayfield, Atwood and Evernham are scheduled to sign autographs from
noon to 3 p.m.  Due to the expected crowd, fans will be limited to one
autographed item.

The No. 9 and No. 19 crews also will conduct a morning and an afternoon pit
stop demonstration.  Evernham Motorsports trainers are looking for new
talent and will hold pit crew tryouts between the two demonstrations. 

Fans are invited to check out displays from various Evernham Motorsports
partners. Fans also can view the new fabrication and assembly shops as well
as the show cars from the No. 9, No. 19 and No. 7 teams.  Souvenirs and
concessions will be available for the fans' enjoyment.

Evernham Motorsports is located near the Statesville Municipal Airport - 320
Aviation Drive, Statesville, NC 28677. From I-77, take I-40 West toward
Hickory/Asheville to Exit 146, Stamey Farm Road.  Turn left at the top of
the ramp and cross back over I-40.  Go straight at the stop sign, and make
the first left onto Aviation Drive.
