ARCA's Montgomery Makes Most of Time at Home

Mt. Juliet, TN (May 5, 2002) - During the race season, drivers don't have much time at home. On one of his few off weekends, ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Chase Montgomery took time to spend a day with disabled children.

For the second consecutive year, Montgomery has participated in a fishing tournament put on by the Easter Seals on Old Hickory Lake, not far outside of his hometown of Mt. Juliet.

Montgomery took his #27 Montgomery Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo to the event to bring the race experience to kids who might not otherwise have the chance to meet a driver and crawl into a real racecar.

"I enjoy being able to take time to visit with the kids," Montgomery said. "It's nice to see the expression on their faces when they get up close to the race car."

Montgomery signed autograph cards for the kids and donated framed Daytona race pictures to the silent auction. All proceeds from the auction went to the local Easter Seals.
