Peach State pre-race Release
Jefferson, GA - Shane Huffman, driver of the #84 Jennie-O Turkey Store/Tip Top Poultry Ford, is looking to repeat his past win at Peach State Speedway on Friday, May 10, for the running of the Naturally Fresh Foods 250 presented by ANECO.
"We are looking forward to going back to Peach State Speedway and contending for our second win," said Huffman. "Peach State is a very rough track. It is rough on the car and is extremely rough on tires." Huffman said drivers will be looking to make their pit stops after the halfway mark.
"The first half of the race, you race the track and you try to hang on to your car. The second half of the race, you come in and get four fresh Goodyear tires, fill the car up with fuel, and you concentrate on racing for position.
"In order to win, or be a contender, you need to be the best driver on the gas pedal. Enter turn one, and let off, and then when you enter turn two, smoothly accelerate back on. One of the trickiest turns at Peach State is coming off turn four. The front straight is narrow and the wall leans toward the track, causing a lot of the cars to glance off the turn."
Practice for the USAR Hooters ProCup Southern Division beings at 1 p.m. with qualifying at 6 p.m., with the field takes the green flag at 8 p.m. The American Challenge Series will run 50 laps immediately following the Naturally Fresh Foods 250 presented by ANECO.
