Burger King Chairman, CEO and President John H. Dasburg Elected to Ryder System, Inc. Board of Directors
MIAMI--May 3, 2002--Ryder System, Inc. , a global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, announced that John H. Dasburg, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Burger King, Corp., has been elected to the Board of Directors of Ryder System, Inc."We enthusiastically welcome John to the Board as Ryder continues to focus on continuous improvement and strives to accelerate its drive to develop its products and services to meet customer needs," said Gregory T. Swienton, Ryder's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President.

Dasburg was named Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Burger King in February 2001. Prior to joining Burger King Corporation, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Airlines for 10 years. In 1980, he joined Marriott Corp. and later served as president of Marriott's Lodging Group and executive vice president of Marriott Corp. From 1973 to 1980, Dasburg served as a partner with KPMG LLP and served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969.
Dasburg currently serves on the Board of Directors of Genuity, Inc., The Mayo Foundation and St. Paul Companies, Inc. He was appointed by President George W.H. Bush to the White House Fellow Committee in 1991 and Florida Governor Jeb Bush appointed him to the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida in 2001.
