Volkswagen of America, Inc. Reports Sales Up 3.4 Percent in April

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 1 -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. reported sales of 30,216 new cars for the month of April compared to last year's figure of 29,226, an increase of 3.4 percent.

For the year so far, Volkswagen is slightly ahead of last year's pace with a total year-to-date sales figure of 105,251 cars versus 2001 when sales were 104,253, an increase of one percent.
