TOM HAMMONDS TO APPEAR ON THURSDAY'S RPM2NIGHT
Winnebago Cavalier driver is featured guest during NHRA Week on ESPN2's 
popular motorsports show

Crestview, Fla., May 1, 2002 - Tom Hammonds, driver of the Winnebago Pro 
Stock Cavalier in the NHRA's POWERade Drag Racing Series, will be a guest on 
this Thursday's edition of RPM2Night.  The show will air at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on 
ESPN2.  Hammonds' appearance is part of RPM2Night's "NHRA Week", which is 
featuring some of drag racing's best as in-studio guests throughout the week. 
 

Hammonds, 35, is in his first full season of NHRA competition following his 
retirement from the NBA after a successful 12-year career.  He currently 
stands ninth in the NHRA POWERade Points Standings, and is looking to score 
his first national event win at this weekend's Summit Racing Equipment NHRA 
Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac in Atlanta, Ga.

RPM2Night is television's first daily motorsports show, with the weekday 
edition hosted by John Kernan and broadcast from their Charlotte, N.C. 
studios.  On weekends, RPM2Night originates from ESPN's headquarters in 
Bristol, Conn., with Whit Watson acting as host.
