Mirenco Partnership With NNSA Leads To Successful Product Development
RADCLIFFE, Iowa--April 26, 2002--Through an ongoing technology development partnership with the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Kansas City Plant, Mirenco's (OTCBB:MREO) primary product DriverMax has been dramatically improved. The production cost is now 90 percent less and 30 percent smaller than the original design.DriverMax manages the throttle of a vehicle in real-time to eliminate waste due to the combination of natural engine degradation and imprecise driver throttle control. The tangible results include minimized emissions, maximized fuel savings, and extended vehicle life, all without a loss of vehicle drivability or power. Kansas City Plant engineers used their expertise in miniature microprocessors to assist Mirenco during DriverMax's product development phase.
Work is now focused on extensive durability testing of the new DriverMax and its installation components. Durability testing will assure the product can perform flawlessly for years while minimizing vehicle tailpipe emission for both new electronic and old mechanical injected diesel engines.
Dwayne Fosseen, Chairman and CEO of Mirenco, comments "It is exciting to see years of sweat and blood invested into improving the environment finally coming together. Keeping everything on track from the initial idea to a publicly traded company is a true test of human spirit, not only for the company personnel but also our investors."
The new DriverMax cost reduction makes it possible to attractively combine pricing, vehicle tailpipe testing and system installation. Mirenco is now into the final stage of closing its first five-year 6000-vehicle commercial contract thanks to the technology partnership initiatives at the NNSA's Kansas City Plant.
The National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Kansas City Plant manufactures a wide array of non-nuclear mechanical, electrical and engineered material components for our nation's defense program. Through a "work for others" program, the Kansas City Plant makes its technologies accessible in the development of new processes and products to enhance the global competitiveness of U.S. businesses.
