Delphi Names New General Motors Customer Director
TROY, Mich., April 25 -- Delphi Corp. announced today the appointment of Nancy Gougarty as Delphi's new global customer director for General Motors Corp., the largest customer account for Delphi. Gougarty will be responsible for leading Delphi's existing GM account team personnel to coordinate Delphi's sales and service activities in support of GM. Gougarty, 46, currently chairman of Delphi China and director, Delphi Packard Asia Pacific, is based in China. She has more than 24 years of experience in the automotive industry. She will report to Dave Wohleen, executive vice president of Delphi, president of Delphi's Electronics and Mobile Communications sector and GM customer champion. The appointment is effective July 1, 2002.

During her tenure in China, Gougarty and her team won General Motors' ``Supplier of the Year'' award five consecutive years. She replaces Beth Schwarting who recently transferred to Delphi Delco Electronics as General Director, Sales & Marketing.
Background
Gougarty's career with Delphi Packard Electric began in 1978, when she began employment as a college graduate in training. She advanced through a variety of engineering positions.
In 1988, she was named superintendent of product engineering and a year later became superintendent of customer satisfaction. In 1990, she was placed on special assignment in Delphi Packard Electric's financial department and later became an administrator in that department.
In 1992, she was appointed customer manager for BMW in North America, in Greenville, S.C. Three years later, she was named regional manager, Delphi Packard International, North America. In August 1997, she relocated to Shanghai to serve as director of Delphi Packard Electric's Shanghai Operations. In 2001, she was promoted to her current position and became a member of the divisional global executive committee.
Gougarty holds a bachelor's degree in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati and a master's degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University.
