New Channeling Grease for High-speed Bearings Highlighted At ASTM Meeting
FAIRHAVEN, Mass.--April 24, 2002--For manufacturers searching for a replacement for ExxonMobil's recently discontinued Andok(R) C grease, Rheolube 374C by Nye Lubricants, Inc., is an excellent candidate, according to a technical paper presented at a symposium in Orlando, April 22 to 24, sponsored by ASTM Committee F34 on Rolling Element Bearings.
The paper contains test results that compare Rheolube 374C to Andok C. Tests results show that Rheolube 374C offers superior water washout performance, lower noise and vibration levels, broader temperature capabilities, lower evaporation rates, and better wear protection -- all of which contribute to improved bearing performance and longer bearing life. Rheolube 374C is an NLGI Grade 4 polyalphaolefin-lithium-complex grease.
Titled "Development and Evaluation of Rheolube 374C as an Alternative to Andok(R) C for High-Speed Precision and Instrument Bearings," the paper was co-authored by Michael J. Dube, Nye's Director of Technology, and Wes Howe, Chief Engineer at AST Bearings in Montville, NJ.
