Motion Industries Receives Toyota West Virginia Supplier Award of Excellence

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--April 23, 2002--Motion Industries, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company , was recently honored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia with a Supplier Award of Excellence. The award was presented to Motion Industries at a Supplier Recognition Event on March 22 at Toyota's Buffalo, W.Va., facility.
    "We are honored to be recognized as one of the top four suppliers for the Toyota West Virginia plant," said group vice president Mark Sheehan. "The entire Motion Industries team contributed to the continuous improvement and teamwork necessary to earn this distinction."
    The award is given to the top four suppliers which are determined using Toyota West Virginia's evaluation process where suppliers are rated on a five-point scale in a variety of areas. Some of the evaluation areas are management support, sales support, technical support, total value and pricing, and continuous improvement. A total of 24 suppliers were evaluated and eligible for the 2001 supplier award.
