Tokheim's EPOS Solutions Selected for Shell Stations
FORT WAYNE, Ind.--April 22, 2002--Tokheim Corporation (OTCBB:THMC), one of the leading global providers of petroleum dispensing and point-of-sale systems and services, announced that Tokheim's state of the art electronic point-of-sale system has been chosen as one of two strategic EPOS solutions for Shell Oil Products US and Motiva company-owned locations, in addition to the previously announced five-year Dispenser Strategic Alliance Agreement awarded by Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC.Tokheim is uniquely positioned to provide a Total System Solution for Shell stations by combining the chosen gasoline dispensers with the new Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Technology point-of-sale solution. This will ensure that a site will need to place only one call to receive service on the entire end-to-end petroleum dispensing solution. Sonny Sedate, Technology Services Manager for the Shell brand, says "We've entered into this partnership because Tokheim has a good technical migration plan. We are seeking greater consistency in our EPOS population to deliver both economic and operational benefits."
By choosing Tokheim, Shell Oil Products US and Motiva have chosen a totally modular EPOS solution that will allow stores to grow both hardware and software only as they need it. The range of available software modules spans dispenser control to unlimited PLU scanning and fast food systems. Tokheim EPOS has been used extensively at Shell owned and operated locations and this relationship is expected to continue with the new Windows NT(R) solution.
