'Roadmap to the X-Day Car-Direct Order Fulfillment in Eight to 20 Days
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 22 ``Roadmap to the X-Day Car'' is about to make the lives of automotive e-business and manufacturing executives easier. The seminar will show how to break through infrastructure, cost and feasibility barriers that have kept the auto industry from achieving a build- to-order philosophy. Ultimately, ``Roadmap to the X-Day Car'' will explain how to create a profitable, efficient 8 to 20 day car program throughout the entire supply chain. The seminar is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Westin Hotel in Southfield's Town Center.
``Roadmap to the X-Day Car,'' hosted by ALTA International, Inc., will not be ``theory'' based. Instead, it will be a real-world examination of and instructional summit for achieving the X-day car. Experts representing companies that have examined or implemented configure-to-order or modularity strategies will describe how to use existing IT and other company resources to achieve a build-to-order strategy, meet customer demand and reduce inventory costs.
