Shippers Name Roadway Express Best LTL Carrier
AKRON, Ohio--April 22, 2002--Roadway Express, Inc. has been honored as the "2002 LTL Nationwide Carrier of the Year" by the National Small Shipments Traffic Conference (NASSTRAC) held on April 3, 2002 in Naples, Fla."The trucking industry as a whole has made tremendous strides in recent years in terms of enhanced services to support supply chain improvements," stated NASSTRAC Executive Director, Debra Phillips. "Further, NASSTRAC and the trucking industry share many common goals and issues. The voting members of NASSTRAC evaluate carrier performance in a variety of areas, including innovation, industry leadership, rating and billing, e-commerce, service performance, support of NASSTRAC's objectives, loss and damage prevention and technology.

The Carrier of the Year program is co-sponsored by NASSTRAC and Logistics Management & Distribution Report, a trade magazine for buyers of logistics services.
