Prolong Names Vice President, Sales & Marketing

    IRVINE, Calif.--April 22, 2002--Prolong Super Lubricants(R), an operating subsidiary of Prolong International Corporation (AMEX:PRL), (http://www.prolong.com), a consumer products holding company and manufacturer and marketer of patented consumer automotive, commercial/industrial and household products, announced today the appointment of Bradley S. Harkless, a 25-year veteran of the automotive aftermarket industry, as Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
    Mr. Harkless previously served as Director of Vehicle Sales & Services for Saleen, Inc., Irvine, Ca., a specialty high-performance vehicle manufacturer, where he formulated and implemented a marketing plan resulting in a 400 percent sales increase. Responsible for new vehicle sales at Saleen, Mr. Harkless created a new brand strategy that resulted in broader consumer reach and demand.
    At L & S Automotive, Oklahoma City, Ok., Mr. Harkless served as Executive Vice President, responsible for strategic planning, sales, marketing and distribution, and implemented an e-commerce program to reduce inventory and a new product/brand program resulting in a significant sales increase. L & S Automotive is a major manufacturer of anti-friction bearings, motor mounts, U-joints and clutches.
    Previously, Mr. Harkless served as Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Hayden, Inc., Corona, Ca., a manufacturer of automotive cooling and driveline components, where he increased sales by more than 70 percent and elevated its market share to number one in the industry, and as Manager, Sales & Marketing, Associated Spring/Raymond, Corry, Pa., a manufacturer of automotive valve springs, where he developed and implemented a global marketing program for sales to Europe and Asia.
    Mr. Harkless also served in executive sales positions for Ford Motor Company, Federal-Mogul Corporation, a manufacturer of engine, transmission and sealing products, and Nissan Motor Corporation.
