Crazy Redhead Racing Starting Second in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 19, 2002) - Despite a frustrating qualifying run, the #15 Fordahl Motorsports/Crazy Redhead/Roger Jobs Porsche GT3-RS will start second in the GT class after a tremendous driving effort by Randy Pobst.

The #15 machine had an electrical glitch, which caused the car to misfire coming out of the infield and on the banking. Even though the car wouldn't stay running, Pobst was just .005 off of the pole-winning time set by the #33 Ferarri.

The Crazy Redhead Racing team was fastest in the first and third practices for the weekend and was second quickest in last night's practice at Phoenix International Raceway.

"The pole was right in the palm of our hands for this Roger Jobs Porsche," Pobst said. This was very frustrating for us. The handling was fantastic. The Dunlop tires had great grip on the track. I just wish we wouldn't have had the electrical problem."

Pobst and CRR co-driver and team owner Kim Hiskey are the defending GT champions under the lights at PIR. The two are hoping to have the problem fixed and be in the front of the pack at the end of the three-hour event.

The UnitedAuto 200 will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday April 19.
